Ring: Designed and Purchased from Tom Ross in Atlanta- He is a former Vice President of Tiffany & Company in New York and was based at the company’s Atlanta location. Tom hosted a very special “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” for Audrey Hepburn when she was in Atlanta to receive the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for her work with UNICEF. The two became friends and he even helped her with a personal jewelry selection.
Cake: There was never a doubt that the ONLY person to make the cake would be Debra Adams of “Cake Design by Debra” Her cakes have graced so many magazines and even covers.. She makes her own fondant by hand and has a special way of making a wedding cake a gourmet delight… super moist. The cake for Jessie had 6 different layers:
1) Chocolate Hazelnut Mocha Crunch
Chocolate cake drizzled with frangelico liquor, crushed Ferrero Rocher truffle cream filling
2) Southern caramel cake with praline filling
Caramel cake with a cooked praline and toasted pecan filling
3) White chocolate truffle with Chambord
Melted white chocolate cake drizzled with Chambord and a dark cherry filling
4) Chocolate Pistachio with Chocolate Mocha Buttercream
5) Fresh strawberry with cream cheese filling
6) Grand Marnier butter cake with blackberry filling
Since Debra is a close personal friend, she allowed Jessie to come over and help make some of the hundreds of edible flower pedals that decorated the cake. The most amazing thing was that Debra gave this exquisite cake to Jessie as a wedding present.
The Wedding Dress – Jessie has modeled for over 13 years and probably modeled a thousand wedding dresses so she knew she did not want anything she had worn or seen before. Jessie called upon a dress designer that makes dresses for Miss America and Miss USA. She had met Randall Smith at the Miss USA Georgia pageant where Jessie took 1st runner up…the winner wore a dress by Randall. Together they created Jessie’s dream wedding dress. He also did a long beautiful veil. He designed her earrings, hand stoned the dress and her shoes.
The Bridesmaid’s Dresses: The dresses were by “Mori Lee,” a company where Jessie has been a runway model for years.
The color was a blush peach, keeping in line with the Georgia peach idea.
Catering by “A Divine Event” – Beach Bellinis and Dark n Stormies were hand passed as quests toured the sprawling Southern mansion and gardens. Fried Green Tomatoes with Goat cheese were passed to guests alongside sour cream biscuits with homemade pickles and BBQ – all little bite sized nibbles of the Souths great dishes. It was a seated dinner with synchronized plating. It was quite a show. Everyone was served a filet and sea bass. It was divine!
Best Part of the Wedding Day: Jessie’s dad walking her down the aisle. Her dad found out he had Leukemia last year and before the wedding it was touch and go. Jessie’s biggest wish was that her dad would be able to walk her down the aisle and be able to see her get married…and her wish came true!
Highlight: The classic ’55 Chevy Jessie drove up in for the ceremony. After really struggling to decide how Jessie should arrive at the ceremony, just days before the wedding, she saw a beautiful old car parked on the side of the street. After inquiring all around and finally finding the owner, he gladly agreed to drive her up to the ceremony in his classic car.
