Southern Charm and Cold Coca-Cola

From the bride…

We met on a plane…I was his flight attendant. He was headed to Texas to see some friends. Little did he know that this would be the trip of his lifetime! He tried to get my attention a few times, and I made casual conversation, but was more focused on working. Finally when I had a break, I went to the back of the plane to sit down. He asked me to sit down and watch Duck Dynasty with him. So, I did, and that was it! 20 minutes later we were both smitten, and 2 weeks later he took me out on our first date. We just clicked and knew right off the bat this was “it”. Eight months later he proposed and six months after that we got married! What a wonderful whirlwind the past year & a half has been. Our wedding was near Athens, Georgia in a cute barn. Antique Acres was the name of the venue. When planning our wedding we knew we needed to incorporate my favorite colors, our cowboy boots, and Seth’s beloved coca-cola! We added personal touches such as having cookie cakes because I have always preferred cookies to cake. Everything went together better than we could imagine and it turned out perfectly!

Sydney & Hunter’s Country Wedding

Album story by Danielle Cote Photography

Sydney and Hunter are so perfect together! They’re both beautiful people inside and out! The weathermen were calling for rain on their big day and it held out for their first look and some gorgeous portraits of the two of them…the storm clouds that were rolling in made for a beautiful backdrop. Unfortunately, those clouds opened up 15 minutes before the ceremony was set to begin! Sydney remained calm during the whole thing and decided to move her ceremony from outdoors to inside the barn, where the reception was already set up. The barn made for a perfect setting for their ceremony since all of the girls had on their cowboy boots! Sydney’s mother outdid herself with putting everything together! So much detail and love went into every little thing! I was so happy to be a part of this day with people who, like me, just go with the flow!

Abbey & Shawn’s East Tennessee RT Lodge Outdoor Summer Wedding

Album story by Leah Moyers Photography

Abbey & Shawn were married outdoors at a lodge in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee the day of a super moon. Abbey wore a gorgeous Romona Keveza gown and Stuart Weitzman shoes. The blush, coral, and ivory color palette, flowers by Samuel Franklin, fun guests and epic dance floor thanks to DJ Robbie from Ogle Entertainment made this traditional Southern wedding perfect! The photos we shot in the property's forest took my breath away.

Classic Chapel Hill, NC Wedding

Album story by Red Bridge Photography

Elizabeth and Nathaniel are perfect for each other and when you meet the perfect one well, YOU GET MARRIED!

That is just what happened this summer! Elizabeth and Nathaniel with their family and friends as witnesses, tied the knot in Durham at their church and then we all traveled to the fantastic Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, NC for the reception. We took some time for some portraits before and after the ceremony with the bridal party and the bride and groom. When we arrived Elizabeth was all ready for a first look at her groom.

First looks are a new trend in which the bride and groom see each other before the wedding ceremony. You have a private moment between the two love birds with photographers watching. It always turns out to be a great moment where for just that time they are alone for the day to enjoy each other. There isn’t vows to be read, a toast to drink to, a cake to cut, a dance to do; no- it is a moment that is just about them. And you don’t have the first time you see each other having all your wedding guests watching.

I don’t think that it ruins the moment of the walk down the isle. There is typically still tears, there is definitely emotion and if you want to change up the appearance factor for the first look and the ceremony – we would recommend not wearing your veil for the first look and only donning it right before you walk down the isle. It is typical for you to not see the groom yes, but times are changing. More and more “southern” brides do insist on not seeing the groom before the ceremony but the trend is starting a switch.

If you have always dreamed about that moment when your dad walks down the isle then maybe a first look isn’t for you. Even if you have, considering a first look would be good. If you do a first look you will definitely get more pictures of the two of you together because you have more time in which we can do the pictures. There is also a more time for pictures with your bridal party.

If it is not for you, we totally understand. Just something else that is an option for your wedding.

Sit back and relax and enjoy some of our favorites from Elizabeth and Nathaniel’s fabulous Carolina Inn Chapel Hill and Durham wedding!

Sara and Buddy | Amelia Island Wedding

Album story by Elmer Escobar Photography

I have been looking forward to Sara and Buddy’s wedding for a long time now. From their engagement session in upstate New York, I could tell there’s something very special about them. They bring out the best in each other and are genuinely sweet to one another. Sara made sure that Buddy looked his best throughout the entire day, and Buddy in return made sure that Sara was completely comfortable. A true gentleman.

This was also special because Sara called me one day and asked me how I felt about an elopement wedding. I had never done one before but I thought the idea was really awesome. She told me they found a place in Florida and that they absolutely fell in love with and that they would like to do it there. I had only been to Florida on vacation once but I thought it would be amazing to shoot in a new location. So we arranged for a weekend that worked for all of us and we set off.

They both got ready in the same room, although Buddy had never seen Sara’s dress nor had he seen her in it. So after he was ready, we sent him off while she got in her dress. We found a beautiful bridge for their first look and I went down first to position Buddy before Sara came down. Needless to say, he was speechless and Sara was just as happy to see her soon-to-be-husband.

We walked around the resort for a bit (photographing in such a beautiful environment, we could have done it all day), but eventually we had to get them married! We had found this beautiful spot underneath this tree for their ceremony. We weren’t sure if we would be OK there because it was to the side of a golf course. But as luck would have it, when we got there, there wasn’t a single golfer to be found. It’s as if it was meant to be. Buddy and Sara were married during a gorgeous sunset in beautiful weather, with just the two of them looking into each other’s eyes. The ceremony went fast so I was glad that I was able to capture their emotions. I can’t say enough how happy I am for them!

After the ceremony we drove off and did a few more photos before they went off and had dinner together as Mr. and Mrs. Cipoletti for the very first time. We met up afterwards for a very brief night session and called it a night soon after. What an amazing experience with such incredible people. Sara and Buddy I wish you nothing but the best in the years to come!

Intimate Southern Wedding at Historic Rucker Place

Album story by Cotton + Clover Photography

James and Faith are two of the most fun-loving people you will ever meet and their wedding was just a reminder of that. Faith is the type of bride you look forward to photographing all year long with her radiant smile and beauty. James is one lucky man for sure and he compliments her beauty completely. Faith and James have what any couple would be blessed to find, true love. This couple has a strong, genuine love for one another and it was very evident to see throughout their wedding day.

The day was surrounded by the the close fiends and family of the happy couple. The ceremony was held in the courtyard of the Historic Rucker Place. The ambient light of the evening, made their ceremony soft and intimate as James and Faith exchanged vows under the stars. Immediately following the ceremony it began to rain so we decided to sneak James and Faith away from their guests to get a photo or two outside! The reception was filled with laughter and joy of everyone present and we couldn't help but to dance along with the couple.
