Casual Florida Vintage Inspired Engagement Session

Album story by Thirteenth Moon Photography LLC

Ryan and Nathalie met while Ryan was working in Florida as a missionary for the Mormon Church. They fell in love and really the rest is history. They are both completing school this year in Utah and plan to wed this December at the Orlando, Florida Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The couple had flown into town for Ryan to meet Nathalie’s family before their wedding in December and to have their engagement photos taken. Nathalie had her heart set on a vintage style shoot with lots of glowy sunset photos…but of course the afternoon was nothing but overcast and rainy. Right as the session was wrapping up the sun came out and afforded us the chance for a few incredible images to go along with Nathalie’s goal of glowy romantic photos!

Dana & Richard’s Southern Inspired South Florida Engagement Session

Album story by Lovely Bee Photography

Dana & Richard are a perfect match – from the way he makes her belly laugh to the way she makes him smile! He proposed at their favorite Country Western hang out, so it seemed oh so appropriate to incorporate that into our Engagement Session. Equipped with Cowboy Boots and a 10 Gallon Hat, we chased the sunset and captured some beautiful moments for these two to love forever.

Elizabeth & Josh

The good weather has finally hit Little Rock and we were finally able to plan out Elizabeth and Josh’s engagement session. Elizabeth and Josh were the contest winners for a free engagement session with myself and my very talented girlfriend (professional wardrobe stylist), Angelique. We decided to team up for something like this and I for one could not be happier with the results. For weeks Elizabeth and Angelique went back and forth discussing the look, the them, the colors: pretty much every single detail before the actual shoot.
Angelique and I scouted a couple of football fields because we knew what fans of football they are. Once we found the right one, we planned out a few shots and figured out what kind of look we wanted. We wanted Elizabeth and Josh to simply look like they went out and had a little picnic. The flowers on the ground looked beautiful and their playful personalities made it so easy to photograph (and the Yeti HAD to be in the photos, haha).
After that we headed down to this park where we knew we could find a little creek. Earlier that day we picked up a headpiece for Elizabeth and her and Angelique picked out the clothes that matched the scene beautifully. We walked around a bit and did a few more photos around the park until it got dark. After that we went downtown for more of a city look. That’s usually how I like doing engagement sessions: park/beach and then city. I feel like the city lights and sharp lines are a nice contrast to the peaceful and serene beach/park scene.
Elizabeth and Josh, you are an absolute joy to be around. You make a wonderful couple and Angelique and I had a blast shooting with you guys!

Jessica & Jason – An Uptown Engagement

This fun, energetic, loving couple wanted to have an urban, romantic engagement shoot in uptown Charlotte. With rain clouds brewing off in the distance, it held off long enough to allow us to trek all over the city to get some fun shots! They were such naturals with posing and you can just see the love they have for one another. Such a sweet couple. Their wedding will be next year in New York.

007 Engagement Shoot

Album story by Samantha Eckhaus

Kathryn and Andrew are an active couple with personalities larger than life. During their 007 engagement shoot, the two were laughing, joking and even throwing water at one another. Casa Feliz in Downtown Winter Park was the perfect spot for these sneaky spies. Their wedding is coming up November 1st!

Nationally published, wedding and portrait photographer, Samantha Eckhaus specializes in beautifully capturing love stories and portraits. Conveniently located in the Central Florida area, Samantha offers photography throughout the state.

Samantha has been a professional photographer for over three years and incorporates a very natural, simple, and clean feel to her work. She shoots in an unobtrusive way preferring to be in the background, creatively documenting the story you want to tell of your special day. Samantha’s work has been published nationally, featured on blogs and in magazines. She also works for a state wide magazine publication, The New Barker, as a photojournalist.

When Samantha isn’t photographing, she enjoys spending time with her beloved horse Sir Oso and volunteering with Florida TRAC, a non-profit thoroughbred adoption program.

Bury the Bourbon Session

Story by Casey Rose Photography. We met on August 13th -exactly one month before Khrissy and Jason's wedding date- to bury a bottle of bourbon on the grounds of their wedding site. The tradition holds that if you bury a bottle of unopened bourbon upside down one month prior to the wedding date, you will be married under clear skies.

Khrissy and Jason grew up in Clinton, North Carolina and plan to wed at Khrissy's uncle's home. They have strong Southern roots and plan to have a lot of fun details that show their love of family and tradition. On their wedding day, they plan to “unbury” the bottle to celebrate their love…. rain or shine.
