Morgan & BJ’s Wedding at Rancho Mirando, Texas | Captured by Addison Studios

Classic. Relaxed. Elegant. Morgan & BJ’s wedding reflected the personality of their relationship. The bride, a yoga instructor in Austin, chose a gorgeous gown that flowed as she walked over the pink and orange rose pedals towards her handsome husband-to-be. The groom, an avid fisherman, decided his cake should reflect that. So fun! Overall, it was a warm and inviting occasion. Outdoor breezes and positive energy as the sunset at this venue overlooking the hill country.

SWN: Tell us a little about your venue. Where did you get married? Why did you choose it? What did you love about it?

Morgan: We chose to get married at Rancho Mirando just outside of Wimberley, TX. We knew we wanted a Hill Country wedding at a venue where all of the weekend’s events could be held on location and where the entire bridal party could stay on site. We toured a few other venues first, but as soon as we set foot on Rancho Mirando’s property we knew this was where we wanted to tie the knot! Between the breath taking Hill Country views, the beautifully decorated hacienda-style ranch house, and the multiple event sites on the 50 acre ranch for our rehearsal dinner fiesta, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception we had no doubt this was the place for the wedding of our dreams!

SWN: What were some of the most important components of your wedding? In other words, what details were you most passionate about and why?

Morgan: I was really passionate about creating a fun, relaxed, and inviting vibe for our friends and family to gather together for the entire weekend instead of just spending a few hours together during the reception. Many of our guests were traveling from out of town, and even most of those that drove just an hour from our hometown of Austin, TX chose to stay in the Hill Country for the entire weekend, giving it the feeling of a destination wedding. We provided shuttle service and activities throughout the weekend for all 175 guests to enjoy including a Friday night rehearsal dinner fiesta (complete with donkeys dressed in fiesta-wear) and Saturday morning skeet shooting for the boys (also on site!). All 16 members of the bridal party, including bride and groom and our yellow lab Sunny, stayed in the Hacienda and enjoyed breakfast in the beautiful kitchen and swimming and sunning in the pool, which had an amazing waterfall and stone grotto! Making every guest feel welcomed and included for every aspect of the wedding weekend was really important to me.

SWN: Describe your feelings and thoughts as you were walking down the aisle.

Morgan: As I was walking down the aisle, I felt a sense of overwhelming joy and happiness. As I passed by rows of friends and family, arm-in-arm with my dad, walking atop a carefully scattered trail of rose petals towards the love of my life and my best friends with the Spanish guitarist playing in the background, I thought to myself, “Wow.. this is everything I envisioned it to be and I am so happy and grateful for everything that has led up to this moment.” It still stands out as one of the happiest memories of my life!
